Fleur de Sel, "Creme de la Creme" of all french sea salts. These rare small white crystals are hand-skimmed from the surface of the saltmarsh. It is the perfect seasoning to enhance flavor of any fish, meat, vegetable or salad. Fleur de Sel is also quite popular among chefs and considered an essential ingredient to some. There is a difference between the iodized salt available in grocery stores verses the little bags or beautiful boxes of Fleur de Sel. It has a rich and sweet flavor (and melts under the tongue). Not only does Fleur de Sel taste differently than regular iodized salt, it also contains trace minerals needed for good health such as magnesium, calcium and potassium.
